in case anyone wanted an update on my shoulder:
it’s about twice as flexible as it was when I started physical therapy. it’s gotten tons stronger and is much more stable- I can now do exercises that I was completely unable to perform at the beginning. holding it steady against force, lifting from certain positions, things like that.
it’s gone from being painful all the time to being sore all the time, which might not seem like a change, but it totally is. when it was painful all the time, it just hurt, mindlessly and unceasingly. it just constantly felt like my shoulder was shredding itself apart. now, it feels the way my thighs felt after my first dance lesson. incredibly, achingly sore, but in a satisfying way that reminds me I am getting better.
there’s a chance I won’t need surgery.
